60 businesswomen from Andalusia, the Algarve and Alentejo attend the 3rd INTREPIDA Forum in Loulé

22/10/19

Fundación Tres Culturas (Three Cultures Foundation) director José Manuel Cervera, inaugurated the 3rd INTREPIDA Forum yesterday in the Portuguese town of Loulé, with 60 businesswomen from Andalusia, the Algarve and Alentejo in attendance. At this encounter, which continues today at the business incubator managed by REGIOTIC (official partner in the project), the participants can showcase their products and services, establishing contacts which will favour the development of their businesses. This forum also allows them to discover successful enterprises such as that of Colectivo 28, Loulé’s first associative shop, or attend interesting educational conferences on packaging, online sales and digital marketing.

José Manuel Cervera stressed the importance of this forum for two reasons, “firstly because Spain and Portugal have a lot to learn from each other, and Andalusia, the Algarve and Alentejo in particular have many areas in which to collaborate, and secondly because I know that the strength of the women of the world is the main agent of change in society.”

For this reason, the Tres Culturas (Three Cultures) director underlined the relevance of the INTREPIDA project to “help destroy the barriers which many women entrepreneurs come across by creating collaboration networks and increasing knowledge of good practices, to contribute to the development of businesses and exchange between businesswomen.”

Various Portuguese authorities were also involved in the inaugural event, such as María Magdalena Feu, the Algarve regional representative of the Institute of Employment and Professional Training; Eduardo Serra Jorge, director of the Portuguese-Spanish Chamber of Commerce and honorary consul of Spain in Portugal; and Paulo Nieves, director of REGIOTIC and honorary consul of the Czech Republic in the Algarve.

The INTREPIDA (Internationalisation of the Businesswomen of Spain and Portugal for Insertion, Development and Alliances) project is an initiative that falls within the framework of the INTERREG Spain-Portugal (POCTEP 2014-2020) and is financed with European Union FEDER Funds. The aim is to boost the business competitiveness of small and medium-sized businesses managed by women in the cross-border area of Andalusia, the Algarve and Alentejo, promoting their internationalisation through new models of development and business cooperation. The Fundación Tres Culturas (Three Cultures Foundation) is the main beneficiary of this project, together with the following partners in Spain and Portugal: Cádiz Province Business University Foundation (FUECA), Huelva County Council, Portoalegre Region Business Association (NERPOR) and Évora Region Business Nucleus (NERE).
