Quaderns de la Mediterránia: ‘Civil Society in the Mediterranean mirror’

The Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation and the European Institute of the Mediterranean, IEMed, present online the latest issue of the Quaderns de la Mediterrània magazine: ‘Civil society in the Mediterranean mirror’. The event will feature Josep Ferré i Gavarró, acting general manager of IEMed, Maria-Àngels Roque, director of IEMed’s Department of Mediterranean Cultures, and Thierry Desrues, senior scientist at the Institute of Advanced Social Studies of the CSIC.
This issue offers an analysis of the different challenges facing civil society in the Euro-Mediterranean space, mainly on the southern shore, and examines its potential as a determining factor for the future of the region. To achieve this it has leading experts from both shores in the three sections that make up its main dossier: 1) Social movements: beyond protests, 2) Intercultural movements: women, climate change, migration and refugees, and 3) Art and communication: spaces of civic memory.
